Counties 'ghost' promises every year just charging your phone once

A grain "that" no volume is created successfully in the laboratory, promises to deliver breakthroughs in manufacturing mobile phone batteries, allowing users to recharge only once each year.

Tuesday 16/7 LiveScience reported mysterious nuts are mathematician Hermann Weyl proposed in 1929. They have no mass and the spin in two directions symmetrically. When two particles spinning in two directions symmetrical contact with each other, they will disappear. There are three types of fermion: Dirac, Majorana and Weyl. The first two were detected in particle accelerators, but it kind of late had not previously found.

From a study in 2011 that could create Weyl under specific conditions, such as to have a semiconductor (properties located between insulator and conductive) with crystals asymmetry, the Scientists at the University of Princeton, New Jersey has selected appropriate materials, which is a substance formed by tantalum and arsenic (tantalum-arsenide).

When using a light beam photon bombardment, the electrons in the crystal lattice of tantalum-arsenide compounds linked in the network exit and move the block compound. Look at the motion of the electrons, the researchers found that they bear the characteristics of Weyl.

This study opens a manufacturing application-oriented new electronic devices. All equipment and technology are now using electron (electrons) are electrically charged wires run in. This process consumes heat and energy in vain. If replacing the electrons by the "ghost particles" Weyl, electric current in the circuit will be almost no heat and only provide very little energy for the device. This is the only county with a north or south pole, characterized by the spin.

"You can imagine it like a tiny bar magnet has only one pole," Dr. Weng Hongming, a researcher on the "ghost particles" told the South China Morning Post. Mobile if using this technology will only need to charge once a year. This is also a promising alternative technology superconductors in future quantum computers.
