Intel SSD to be released several times faster than current SSDs

In theory, this new technology will help SSD achieved a maximum speed of 1,000 times higher than current technologies.

Intel is expected to launch a new line of SSD called Intel Optane in 2016. They will use 3D technology XPOINT on new SSD. This technology is expected to bring more speed 1000 times, 1000 times more durable storage density and 10 times the current solution.

XPOINT 3D technology can retain data even when power is lost, so users will not worry about losing information in unexpected situations. This makes it similar activities as the storage on NAND flash chips used in SSDs today but offer superior speed (roughly equivalent to the speed of DRAM).

At the Intel Developer Forum conference taking place in San Francisco, Intel said it is prepared to introduce a computer prototype using SSDs Optane. The new hard drive will be faster than 5 to 7 times higher than Intel P3700 SSDs use NAND flash chips today.

Intel said the chip will first Optane on a new SSD line with high reliability and performance available on a variety of equipment including desktop and laptop. The new SSD drives will still use PCI-e popular now or plugged directly into the slot (slot RAM) on some special mainboard.
